Future Ready.
Cloud.

The world is at a tipping point. Organisations of all types are recognising that the traditional model of centralised, site-housed data restricts the scope of their vision for the future.

True digital transformation promises exciting, enhanced outcomes across your operation, but legacy infrastructure can only achieve so much. A Cloud-led, business aligned strategy brings your goals within reach – in a way that’s faster, smarter and simply better than anything previously possible.

The Cloud may be invisible, but it’s hard to see a future without it.

Cloud is just an anagram of ‘could’

The Cloud is, above all, an enabler for transformation.

The decision on how to host an application is not an ‘IT question’: it should be based on wider organisational needs and desired outcomes. You no longer need to worry about the expense, overhead and headache that comes with running a datacentre capable of meeting all of their needs, leaving more space to concentrate on what really matters – positive outcomes.

Yesterday

Applications were tied to restrictive infrastructure, hosted onsite or in expensive racks in a shared space. Teams, often working in silos, were making manual changes to physical infrastructure.

Today

Virtualisation makes the provision of servers and networks simpler but is still constrained by the physical environment. Manual deployments and configuration are common and there are still cultural and commercial barriers to the adoption of the Cloud.

Tomorrow

Flexible, ambitious, innovative platforms benefit from auto-scaling, automation, machine learning, self-healing and diverse, decipherable data sets, enabling a radically upgraded user experience and far superior levels of service.

Cloud.
Reimagined.

Hybrid Cloud is the foundational driving force behind digital transformation. Combining public and private Cloud environments offers the best of both worlds: optimised security and compliance on the one hand and flexibility, low cost and operational efficiency on the other.

When you put the needs of users first, you give them the flexibility to establish new business models that can truly take advantage of a Cloud-native approach. Machine learning can monitor all aspects of your environment, feeding back on exactly how and where applications are being used. Then, armed with this knowledge, you can streamline systems and make the user experience even better, via intuitive, easy-to-understand dashboards.

Imagine a world where you can deploy a complete datacentre with just the click of a button. Where you can build – and destroy – test and development environments quickly and with ease. And where all of this can be done without the need for infrastructure engineers at every stage.

Datacentre

An organisation often has extensive infrastructure that cannot be shifted to the Cloud. Our services ensure that your existing on-prem infrastructure is optimised to integrate with future platforms, makes the most of what you already have and introduces best of breed hyper-converged technology.

Public Cloud

Our platform knowledge enables us to build, manage and continuously optimise your public Cloud environments. This includes best practice setup, cost & resource optimisation, Cloud backups, Cloud file services, security, patching and monitoring. Having all of this in place ensures that suitable services can be migrated/created to the Cloud in a controlled and manageable way.

Hybrid Cloud

Using our experience of proven best practice, Block can design, plan and manage the transition to a modern, secure hybrid platform connecting your datacenters and the Public Cloud. We will always take into account the operational needs of your organisation, planning the transition with an eye both to minimal impact and a timely path to realising the benefits.

Mark Walton
Cloud offers the kind of flexibility that I could only dream of when starting out in my career; it took three months to get a new server into service. Cloud has matured into an amazing set of tools offering control, resilience, security and the opportunity to be truly innovative when envisioning creative solutions. The flexibility offered does introduce a level of complexity and over the years we've learned to navigate that complexity so we can guide organisations on their Cloud journey, ensuring they can take advantage of the benefits via a manageable and well-understood methodology. The future is
here now

A Future Ready Cloud is the key enabler to transform IT services. Before the Cloud, all of these benefits would have been impossible or prohibitively expensive. Beyond the Cloud, the future is infinite, allowing you to keep ‘levelling up’ in terms of:

  • Provisioning services in minutes
  • Increased availability of services
  • Resilience and reliability
  • System integration and flexibility
  • Innovation, especially around AI and service/response automation
  • Future-proof, hands-off adaptability
  • Cybersecurity, to levels previously not possible
  • Operational efficiency
  • Short and long-term cost-efficiency
  • A continually enhanced user experience across the board
  • Consumer-grade self-service capabilities
  • Digital assistant technologies
  • Self-healing IT services

So what’s
stopping you?

While there’s always excitement about the vision of an evolved workplace, it’s often overshadowed with apprehension over how to get there. Will it be safe, will there be room, can it be hacked? What about its environmental credentials? It’s understandable that many value the reassurance of a physical presence, but the digital management structure referred to as ‘The Cloud’ is just as real, and much more capable. It’s secure, robust, unfathomably spacious and making daily gains to an already superior environmental record.

To take advantage of the opportunity there has to be a cultural change, and this takes time. Skills change from working with physical hardware to writing code, finance models move from large upfront costs to a pay-as-you-go model, ITSM processes change, development and deployment processes changes. People have to be able to adjust to these changes to give them confidence working in these new environments. This is a very important part of the journey that cannot be underestimated. In this new world, organisations must continuously optimise and innovate within their environments to ensure maximum value and maintain security and compliance.

We’re here to help. We’re driven by a belief in better, we’re determined to deliver faster time to value, and we’re dedicated to making smarter technology work for you – as it can, as it should, and as you and your stakeholders deserve. When we apply the Block Approach to your operation, we know that lasting transformation is not only possible, but well within reach.
